PXD was founded by partners Kamila Altman, Julie Chou, and Rachel Simpson, who launched the practice in 2022 after working closely together for several years at another firm. Building on that cooperative experience, PXD’s objective is to more directly collaborate with our clients, to listen and understand the needs of our clients’ communities and residents, and to help realize their goals with thoughtful and responsive designs. Our target clients are nonprofit organizations providing supportive housing services to underserved communities in the NYC Metro Area. We strive to help them serve those local communities by designing healthy, safe, sustainable, and equitable homes and communities. As a way to more deeply understand the needs of our city and address those needs with thoughtful design, PXD actively volunteers with local organizations such as NYC’s Urban Design Forum (UDF) and the American Institute of Architects, NYC chapter (AIANY). |
